Commission Painting and Pricing

Yes, I do take commissions.

Infantry are $15 a model, regardless of size, up to 32mm round base.
Large Infantry and Cavalry are $30 a model, up to 50mm round base.
Extra Large Infantry are $45 a model, up to 60mm round base.
Vehicles are based on size:
$150 for 40k dread sized (60mm base)
$200 for 40k Rhino chassis or similar, smaller fliers (Storm Talon)
$400 for 40k Land Raider, larger fliers (Storm Raven).
Forge World and Collossals - prices vary

These prices include all assembly and basing. If you already have models assembled, primed, or want to do the basing yourself, please contact me and we can talk about reducing the price.

What you get for your money - models will be cleaned of any mold lines and flash, assembled, primed, painted, based, and matte varnished for protection. Will always be beyond the 3 color minimum for tournaments, and will include the little details that we all want. I will paint an army for you that I would be proud to play with myself. I will do custom color schemes, as well as traditional "from the book" schemes. I only have one level, and that is fully painted.

About Me

I paint models and have been doing it since I was 12. Over the years I have learned tons of tricks and painted loads of models. I have ran a very successful Miniatures studio, and owned a Retail Game Store. After closing those, I decided to get a little smaller with the operation and I am back to a one man show.

Comparing washes

Well, this may be a little pre-emptive, with the upcoming release of the new GW paint line, but here is a comparison of 2 different manufacturers Black Washes.

I use a lot of Badab Black.......and I mean A LOT of Badab - to the tune of 3 to 4 pots a month - why?  Becuase I paint a lot of models and I have found the Badab to be a good, quick shade, which after highlighted, really deepens the basecoat that you are painting.

On the suggestion of a good buddy of mine - Luke - I picked up some of the Vallejo Model Color Black Shade, and did a side by side comparison with the Badab Black.

Here is a Starter Kit Marine, based in Cygnar Blue Base, Ironhull Grey, Boltgun metal, and Brassy Brass, and then washed with GW Badab Black.

Here is another Starter Kit Marine, same base colors, but washed with the VMC Black Shade.

Neither wash was thinned, as I normally paint these right out of the pot.  So far they are about identical.

After bringing the base colors back up, they appear pretty similar.

GW Wash, re-highlighted.

VMC Wash, re-highlighted.

To me, close enough - Yay for saving cash.........And just in time too - I have a few vehicles and larger models to paint for the Wife's Necrons.

Trollbloods Paint Pallet.

Okay, details on the Trollbloods I just painted for Nasir.  We wanted to do something different than the standard Turquoise and wash flesh tones, so I decided to go with a way more neutral color.
I use:
Primer is Army Painter Uniform Gray Primer
Vallejo Model Color Russian Uniform WWII 70924 for the flesh
GW Codex Grey for the skin bumps
GW Boltgun Metal for all silver metal
GW Bestial Brown for all the leather
GW Scorched Brown for the boots
Vallejo Brassy Brass for all the gold metal
Privateer Press P3 Skorne Red for the tabards/tartans
Privateer Press P3 Cygnar Blue Highlight for the pants
Privateer Press P3 Jack Bone for all the bone areas (pelts, teeth, etc)
Finally, after all base colors were in place, a generous wash of GW Devlan Mud.

This basic color scheme was carried over to all model in of the Troll persuasion in the army.

Adding a sculptor!

I am adding a sculptor for custom work to wargames models - pricing are his estimates - no blanket price sheet for this stuff. He will do anything from simple sculpts to full on major sculpt/conversion work. Here is a link to the pictures of a Blood Angels
