Commission Painting and Pricing

Yes, I do take commissions.

Infantry are $15 a model, regardless of size, up to 32mm round base.

Large Infantry and Cavalry are $30 a model, up to 50mm round base.

Extra Large Infantry are $45 a model, up to 60mm round base.

Vehicles are based on size:

$150 for 40k dread sized (60mm base)

$200 for 40k Rhino chassis or similar, smaller fliers (Storm Talon)

$400 for 40k Land Raider, larger fliers (Storm Raven).

Forge World and Collossals - prices vary

These prices include all assembly and basing. If you already have models assembled, primed, or want to do the basing yourself, please contact me and we can talk about reducing the price.

What you get for your money - models will be cleaned of any mold lines and flash, assembled, primed, painted, based, and matte varnished for protection. Will always be beyond the 3 color minimum for tournaments, and will include the little details that we all want. I will paint an army for you that I would be proud to play with myself. I will do custom color schemes, as well as traditional "from the book" schemes. I only have one level, and that is fully painted.

Price hikes and the much needed exploration

So in picking up a can of primer and other stuff from Empire, I was told that the price of GW primer is going up to $15 a can. $15 BUCKS A CAN!!!! So in the spirit of saving $$$ on supplies to maximize my gaming dollars, I will be experimenting with a few selections of flat black primers this weekend.

Most likely I will be trying out:

Painters Mark - Walmart brand of Primer. Abotu $.99 a can, smells really bad,but gives a nice light coat, and doesn't go on thick.
Dupli-Color - Saw this one in No Quarter magazine, by one of the staff painters. If it is good enough for them, then I will give it a shot. At $4 a can, would be a major step up from $15 a can.

Those are my 2 choices for this weekend. I will be trying these out on MY MODELS this weekend. I will post the results here.

Oh, and just a little advise with using GW Black Primer - If the can is getting low, do not try to squeeze the last bit out of can. I primed an Impaler with the last from my last can. Lets just say that it went on a little thick. Made the model a little chunky - but was able to paint it out though.

Oh and a word on Privateer Press Support. I emailed them to let them know that I was missing the spell card from my Grim Argus Model, I have received a fast response (within 6 hours) from Andy, one of their reps, and they are shipping out a replacement! Man, I never received this type of backup from GW - Ever. Pretty glad that I am focusing on a game where the company recognizes that the customer comes first!
